Solo Exhibition 2016

I am scheduled for a solo exhibition at the Art Gallery of Algoma in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Canada starting October 25, 2016 and running until February 4th, 2017.

As an abstract expressionist, I paint with emotion but not "in the moment" emotion. I work in plaster first which solidifies or makes the emotion concrete. Then, adding colour, light and shadow directs the viewer to share this emotion. Feelings are universal and I want to connect with people and show that emotions are valid, first of all and secondly, to show that we all share these feelings. The exhibition is named "Liminality: That Place In Between" to demonstrate that we are always in a state of flux and our state of being is never linear or ending...in other words...in between...at the threshold.
