Color Balance
Our view may be obscured when a change in direction is imminent. But one thing is for sure...a change will come. This painting to me symbolizes a pattern of direction in life that flows in un-known ways. The background is a heated cadmium yellow, orange and burnt sienna and the shadows are a cooler pthalo blue, violet and cool grey.
My last post I showed a point in the painting process that needed some cooling down. The painting was too heated and I wanted to incorporate cooler colors for symbolic and visual purposes. Shadows in violet are sexy and gives me chills.
