Color Balance
Our view may be obscured when a change in direction is imminent. But one thing is for sure...a change will come. This painting to me symbolizes a pattern of direction in life that flows in un-known ways. The background is a heated cadmium yellow, orange and burnt sienna and the shadows are a cooler pthalo blue, violet and cool grey. A Glimpse Into the Process of Abstract Art
I wanted to show you part of the process of the creation of this set of abstract paintings. This image shows a midway point where I have the composition, balance, colour, contrast and line established. That doesn't mean that it is set in stone. It only means to an artist that it is a stepping stone. A place to travel from. This is the point that I use glazing of values, tints or tones of colour to bring dimension. #abstractart #abstractpaintingprocess

Final Painting of "Grief"
This is the final image of the painting shown in the last post. The process of Abstract to me should always include the basic elements of art and design principles. Emotion plays a very large role in the abstract painting process. It is a vehicle for articulating ourselves and conveying and hopefully touching the viewer in some sense. #abstractpainting #abstractpaintingprocess
